Digital Radiographs (X-rays)
Digital radiography is a new development in our veterinary practice. Digital radiographs, or digital X-rays, capture images digitally on a special plate using a regular X-ray machine. The plate saves the images and transfers them to a computer where they are stored and can be viewed immediately.
Digital radiographs offer many advantages over conventional X-rays. Some of these advantages include:
- Image Resolution is superior
- Radiographs can be enlarged to reveal problems that might not be seen using traditional X-ray technology
- Reduced exam time as each image is captured, verified, and clinically reviewed in seconds
