Stem Cell Therapy

Stem Cell Therapy can help your dog or cat with chronic inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, allergies, and inflammatory bowel disease. We have even been managing cruciate ligament tears in dogs with Stem Cell Therapy.
Stem Cell Therapy for Pets in Fitchburg, WI
If you would like to have your pet evaluated for potential Stem Cell Therapy, please contact us to set up an appointment. Preoperative blood work and x-rays may be necessary. On the day of the procedure, your pet will get to spend the day with us here at Odyssey. In the morning, he or she will undergo surgery to harvest abdominal fat. This fat is then processed in clinic to activate the stem cells while your pet is comfortably recovering. A few hours later, we will sedate your pet again and the treatment will be administered. Patients go home the same day on pain medications. Extra stem cells can be banked for future use. After the procedure, rest is important for your pet and there will be follow-up visits to make sure healing is going well.
Along with Stem Cell Therapy, we can also perform procedures with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP). PRP is a helpful tool for decreasing inflammation in and of itself and only requires a blood draw for processing. Conditions that benefit from PRP include pancreatitis, acute injuries, and eye ulcerations, to name a few.
